Every day I get to wake up and do what I was made to do. It's pretty cool...don't be jealous because getting to do what we're made to do isn't the same as what we want to do.
I was supposed to be a baseball player. That's what I wanted to do. God had a different plan for me (him and I will discuss this some day!)

Fireproof Your Finances: It's Your Money, Learn How to Make Your Advisor Work for You has been an unexpected success. On Amazon, it's been ranked as high as #31 in books classified under Wealth Management. This is astounding, considering there's hasn't been a formal marketing campaign and most sales have been word-of-mouth.
FYR was the catalyst for many of Mike's future accolades. The book led to an appearance on Moving America Forward, Hosted by William Shatner. This appearance led to a several, industry specific, in-print interview requests--which eventually led to a short stint as a TV host and the next point on here, SeriouslyDave?!, perhaps the most controversial column in the industry.
MONTHLY COLUMN: SERIOUSLYDAVE?!
You haven't heard about the column SeriouslyDave?!, are you SERIOUS? At it's peak, each monthly SeriouslyDave?! piece garnered more than 40,000 page views. It was syndicated nationally to various different financial websites and in two languages. In the end, it had a good run from Jan 2015 to Mar 2017. It ended in 2017, when the publisher was sold and a new editorial team was put in place.
Mike is set to bring a new Ramsey column to The Register, a bi-monthly, in print financial magazine published by the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants.

Mike's authored works have not only sparked debate among fellow advisors, but also fellow writes. Forbes' Columist Jon Berlau opined the piece, "How the Fiduciary Rule May Censor Broadcaster Like Dave Ramsey." This sparked hundred of comments and even a rebuttal from Slate writer Helaine Olen. In the end, it appears Mike was the first in the country to state the DOL rule would regulate financial broadcasters as fiduciaries. Due to a previous Supreme Court Ruling (Lowe v. SEC), this potentially made the DOL rule unconstitutional. Unsurprisingly, this was one of the arguments used by the plaintiff's in the 5th District Court which led to the vacating the rule.
